Components

A typical optical module consists of several key components :

  • Transmitter Optical Sub-Assembly (TOSA): Contains a laser diode (LD) or LED that emits modulated light signals.
  • Receiver Optical Sub-Assembly (ROSA): Includes a photodetector that converts incoming optical signals into electrical signals.
  • Driver and Amplifier Circuits: Process electrical signals for transmission and amplify received signals.
  • Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA): Houses the functional circuits and control logic.
