BiDi modules transmit and receive signals over a single fiber using two distinct wavelengths, so correct pairing requires matching the transmit wavelength of one module to the receive wavelength of its counterpart and vice versa . Standard SFP modules also require matching the transmission and reception ports to maintain full-duplex communication .

Step 2: Inspect Fiber and Connector Quality

Ensure that the fiber optic cables and connectors are clean and free of defects. Misalignment or contamination can cause insertion loss, back reflection, and modal noise, which degrade signal quality . Use precision cleaning tools and inspect connectors under a microscope if necessary.

Step 3: Align Fibers Precisely

For high-speed networks, fiber alignment is critical.
