Never look directly into the optical module or fiber ends, as they emit laser radiation that can cause eye damage .

Installation Steps

1. Prepare the Port: Remove the dust plug from the optical port and keep it for future use. Ensure the port is powered off if required by the manufacturer .
2. Orient the Module: Check the optical module's orientation and gently insert it into the port until you hear a click. If it does not fit, rotate the module 180 degrees and try again .
3. Verify Seating: Gently pull the module by its sides while keeping the handle closed. If it does not come out, it is securely seated .
4. Connect Optical Fibers: Only connect fibers after the module is installed. Release the fiber connector's locking clip, insert the fiber carefully, and ensure labels are correct. Avoid excessive force to prevent damage .

Removal Steps

2. Disconnect Fibers: Release the locking clip and gently remove the fiber, covering connectors with dust caps .
3. Remove Module: Release the latch or handle, grasp the module by its edges, and pull straight out without twisting .
4. Store Safely: Place the module in an anti-static bag if it will be reused .
